Diljit Dosanjh is an Indian actor, singer and all-round celebrity who works in Punjabi and Hindi cinema and the Punjabi music industry. I am mainly posting this for the excellent dancing, Indian culture excels at dance, particularly for men. Dance requires men to be strong yet agile, not so bulked up with inflated, balloon-animal muscles that it reduces their mobility. This is why you don’t see Captain America dancing.
Diljit Dosanjh: Sweetu (2014)
It’s Friday evening at 7pm, and I have actually finished work, for a change. I am doing no work this weekend. The next several days are going to feature cute boys, arts & culture and exotic locations. Stay tuned for more news.
I would like to celebrate this situation with a clip from Fellini’s 1963 film 8 1/2. There are many things one could say about this important film but I will be concise. One of the most memorable figures in the film is La Saraghina, a woman who lives in a hut on the beach. In exchange for a coin, she dances. She is – well, I will let you decide.
Saraghina, la rumba! La rumba!
I’m free at last and I’m going to feel on top of the world when I’ve had some sleep.
Scissor Sisters: I Don’t Feel Like Dancing
Philadelphia is a beautiful city that has a LOT of art as well as some very impressive architecture. Everything is bursting at the seams with politics and history. I am at the airport right now so I will post some general photos of the city and we’ll do specific art posts later because I have a lot to say. So, without further ado, some views of the city, insofar as I managed to see some small corners of it. Here’s the Rittenhouse Square area.
People registering to vote. Hopefully not for Donald Trump.
Even the graffiti is nice.
I recommend the Parc restaurant overlooking the square. That’s a warm shrimp and avocado salad. Good for diet.
Creme Brulee. Less good for diet but still delicious.
Right, I must go and get on a plane. More later.
I still love my new job.
It is becoming more demanding by the minute, if not the second, and I am still smiling, actually I am beaming, I am awash with serotonin and I love everybody and everything on sight.
I am sure it is helped by the fact that I am getting an average of 90 minutes brisk walking every day as well, to and from work. So obviously I arrive like a chirpy, rosy-cheeked motherfucker and then I get more exercise on the way home as well. It’s great. My diet still needs attention but I am certainly not over-eating because I am way too busy to snack and anyway I’m in meetings all the time.
I feel slimmer. The muscles in my arse are aching, which is a very good sign and I know from experience that I will develop muscles in my legs and bum almost immediately if I walk outdoors every day. I also think I am slightly less rounded in the midsection than I was at the start of this week. Very slightly. Also that I lost a small amount of fat off my face. So that’s good. I am incredibly excited to think of all my clothes I am probably quite near to being able to fit into. Within a few weeks or a couple of months.
Well, that’s it. I have a huge amount of work to do because this is not my only income stream and my weekend is going to be full of other kinds of work, but it is all good, it is all for a purpose, and that purpose is The Life You Want. Keep reaching for that rainbow, readers.
And now for a tune. Looks like TLYW Dance Time might be back in session. Get up and dance, look what a treat I picked out for you.
EMF: Unbelievable (1990)
There is a lot going on and I am a bit scared.
I try to relax and that helps. Then tonight I thought of what my brave, proud, take-no-prisoners son would do in this situation, and he would put on a certain face, like he was ready to take on the world, and he would get up and dance. UK garage ftw.
Do you really like it? Is it, is it wicked?
